The incumbent will design, construct, supervise, operate, and maintain designated construction projects and systems to manage utilities, the environment and support for production, maintenance and distribution. He/ she will use engineering principles to solve complex, practical problems and help maintain a balance between the environment, the use of water, and the regulatory obligations for industry, government agencies and the public.

• Designs construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings and models.
• Assists in the environmental and safety management of projects
• Assists in the appraisal of proposed projects and the technical review of newly formulated projects
• Conducts pre and post-evaluation of contractors and consultants
• Conducts the measuring of works for payment and processing of payment claims
• Undertakes and completes construction projects by preparing engineering design and documents and confirming specifications.
• Prepares engineering design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, photographs, and analysis of terrain as required.
• Determines project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs.
• Creates feasibility study by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data.
• Produces engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules.
• Confirms adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress, inspecting a construction site, and verifying calculations and placements.
• Maintains operations by enforcing project and operational policies and procedures.
• Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Complies with requirements of existing as well as new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions.
• Maintains project database using relevant data.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Provides support for projects in environmental engineering and risk assessment, wastewater management, contracts administration, site remediation, construction of potable water lines and water treatment methods.



• B. Sc degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Proficiency with CAD and AutoCAD
• At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar capacity in an engineering or manufacturing environment
