Multiskilled individual with responsibility to perform preventative maintenance tasks including troubleshooting and repair of all process control and instrumentation systems. Incumbent will be required to support plant electrical, instrumentation and controls projects and make recommendations concerning upgrades and changes. He/she is expected to assist with the upkeep and maintenance of the Company’s facilities and business support systems.

• Performs routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs.
• Assist in performing analysis on all projects at assigned locations
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot PLC’s, process controls, electrical, instrument, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Calibrate, configure, and repair of measurement/control instruments for flow, level, pressure, temperature, and pH including associated valves and valve actuators.
• Troubleshoot and repair electric motors and motor control circuits
• Troubleshoot instrument and electrical issues associated with mechanical equipment
• Specify electrical conductors and appurtenances for given E&I applications.
• Interpret and apply equipment name plate data and select correct unit for a given application
• Configure small, medium and large VFDs and their individual parts.
• Troubleshoot I/O systems related to Allen Bradley, Omron, Siemens Controllers
• Use laptop computer to communicate with PLC and troubleshoot same using program logic
• Ensure excellence in all areas of compliance, environmental health and safety
• Adhere to all OSHA and National Electrical Safety Code regulations and procedures
• Support efforts to maximize production through creative problem solving, adaptation, and correction of process bottlenecks
• Complete work orders and document the time, tasks and parts/supplies needed to complete the project
• Maintain and update documentation as required
• Additional duties as assigned

• Experience troubleshooting electrical and instrument control systems and maintenance support equipment
• Experience reading technical drawings and schematics
• Experience with preventative, predictive, and reliability-based maintenance practices
• Experience utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Understanding of electrical theory
• Knowledge of the uses of various types of sensor, encoders, sensing interlocks including limit, ultrasonic, proximity radar, and capacitance switches.
• Understanding relay logic, know the difference between software and hard interlock,
• Experience in the design and setup relay logic switches
• Mechanical aptitude would be asset
• Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment
• Familiar with Microsoft Office products



• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar capacity in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to speak Spanish will be a distinct asset
